Lia is going to be marrying Brian Beaver and her best friend, Breaker Cane, is pissed. How can his best friend since college be marrying a man that doesn't accept their friendship? How can she accept a man that refuses to play board games with her, which is one of her passions. How can she marry a man that thinks she is losing it when she cuts her hair?
Breaker is going to do everything in his power to be the best man-in-waiting, while also showing Lia that he is the man that she is supposed to be with. Breaker is bound and determined to prove to Lia that she deserves everything in the world and that he is the only one that can provide it.
This book stole my heart - two best friends falling in love. 😍
It reminds me so much of my best friend in the whole world, Alex Anwar, except our story doesn't end up with us being in a relationship together. We are married to the loves of our lives, and have been best friends and thick as thieves since freshman year of high school (that's 12 years now... holy shit). Alex was the maid of honor at my wedding and I was the best man at his. Alex and I could not imagine marrying someone that didn't accept our friendship.
Breaker was such a fun hero - hot, nerdy, and extremely loving. He is everything you would want in your own partner. Has a supportive family and the best group of friends anyone could ask her. He wasn't afraid to express his emotions and he was just an all-around great love interest.
Lia was a woman that you could really relate to. A woman who is reeling from the death of her parents and sadly ended up dating the wrong person who couldn't see her, or accept her, for who she really was. It took the strength of her friendship with Breaker to help her discover that she deserves the world and should not be afraid to ask for what she wants.
Please pick up this book and read it. It is the third in a series, but it can be read as a stand-alone.
