Book two of the Donovan Legacy books and I was so bored with this one...

Sebastian is a psychic and he helps police find missing people. He takes on a case of a baby that gets taken from his front step and disappeared. Sebastian, and the boy's aunt, work together to find the missing baby.

I don't know... I just wasn't feeling it.

The main character was annoying. This is the prequel to 'Pretty Girls'.

Title: People We Meet on Vacation

Poppy and Alex are total opposites, yet they are best friends. Poppy is loud and vivacious, while Alex is quiet and reserved. Poppy loves wild prints, and Alex wears khakis as casual wear. What keeps their friendship alive are their annual summer vacations.

One of those vacations goes horribly wrong when their feelings start getting in the way. Something happens and they don't talk for 2 years afterward. Poppy wants all of that to change with the current summer. After two years of radio silence, Poppy texts Alex asking if he wants to go on a vacation.

I loved this book because it reminds me of my best friend, who conveniently is also named Alex. The only difference is Alex and I don't hook up and fall in love with each other. Alex and I are there for each other through thick and thin - just like Poppy and Alex. This book now holds a special place in my heart for making me miss my best friend.

Dorothy loves three things: food, Italy, and sex. As a single woman, she loves to divulge all three at the same time. Lovers in Italy while tasting amazing food for her food blog and articles back in the states.

Dorothy does have a unique interest when it comes to trying new recipes - human parts.

This novel is a feminist version of Psycho where she has sex and when she is tired of them, she kills them in elaborate ways that don't lead to her, until she makes a vital mistake with her final lover.

Written as a prison memoir, Dorothy recounts her sexual escapades with what body parts from each man tasted the best cooked in an elaborate recipe.

Ted was in the wrong place at the wrong time. A 13-year-old girl goes missing and was found brutally rapped and beaten, the last person who witnesses say they saw the girl with: Ted.

Ted is acquitted of the crime due to lack of evidence, and Ted leaves town to try and start a new life. Marked as a pedophile, Ted has a hard time finding a place where he isn't ostracized until he gets to Crimson Lake.

A local celebrity in Crimson Lake goes missing and Ted, and his new partner - a former female convict for murder - are on the case to figure out who killed the celebrity and take down the crooked cops that had something to do with other disappearances of younger girls.

This book was really good. I did not see the ending coming! Also, death by crocodile would be terrible (this isn't a spoiler, you find this out in the first several chapters).

4 strangers are sitting at the same table in the Boston Public Library when they hear a woman scream in terror. 2 of them are writers, one is a psychology postdoc, and the other is trying to fail law school. One of these strangers is a killer.

This scream unites these 4 as they build blooming friendships and relationships. During this period one is being pursued by the police as the potential killer, while the other 3 are trying to prove his innocence.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a great mystery about who the killer was! Every character that was introduced would make you suspect they were the killer. This was a fun read!

Claire Scott's oldest sister went missing twenty years ago - her family never recovered and they fell apart. 20 years later a 16-year-old girl goes missing in the same fashion as her sister.

Claire and her younger sister need to work together, after not talking for the last 20 years, and figure out who killed their sister - they are convinced the killings are related.

This book had a lot of great twists and the ending was, to me, very unexpected! It was a good read, not my favorite, but still good.

Title: Woman, Eating

Author: Claire Kohda

Lydia is your stereotypical vampire: pale, sensitive to sunlight, and needs blood to survive. After decades of living with her mother, she decides it is time to spread her wings and live on her own. The only problem is that Lydia has no idea how to acquire pigs' blood without looking suspicious, and where is she going to live and pay for it? She is not like every other vampire in the movies and books, she does not have decades worth of wealth.

Lydia ends up renting an art studio and meets Ben, a fellow artist, and friend. She is catching feelings for Ben and wants to eat him. She is constantly going back and forth about how she is falling in love with him but would love to bleed him dry because she is so hungry.

The one thing I liked about this book was that it was a coming-of-age story for a young female vampire. It was a unique story arc. I also liked how you could relate to her with her rocky relationship with her mom.

"Now I wonder if I’ve been useful to her only as something she can pour everything she despises about herself into, something that she could raise to hate itself so that she’d have company in her feelings."

I was really disappointed with this book as well. I was hoping it would be a lot darker than it was.

Title: Good Rich People

Author: Eliza Jane Brazier

Hours: 9

Rating: 1.5

Lyla and Graham are two ultra-wealthy people who don't believe that they need to breathe the same air as the lower classes - nobody likes someone that comes from "new money". Graham gets bored in life and likes to get tenants to rent out his guesthouse, and in a sick game, likes to make their lives a living hell - end result is always a complete breakdown of the tenant, and to the extreme, death of the tenant.

Demi is a woman who was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she is the worst kind of adult rich - new tech money. With Demi as the tenant, it is Lyla's turn to play the game and ruin Demi. Is Lyla up to the challenge, or will Demi best her?

The premise of this book was a neat one, the ultra-rich getting away with literal murder and the twist at the end was unique. The reason I gave this book 1.5 stars was due to the lack of any character development or plot. Lyla was a whiny woman whose main focus in life was to stay with Graham and his money - despite how much of a horrible human being he was. She kept wanting to win his affections. Graham on the other hand was a bored, spoiled rich boy who kept complaining, throughout the whole book, about how bored with everything he was.

I couldn't stand this book and spitefully finished it, I was curious how it was going to end.
