Title: The Jane Austen Society

Author: Natalie Jenner

Absolutely nothing happened in this book.

A group of mismatched Jane Austen lovers, who live in the last town that Jane lived in before she died, get together to start this society (almost 3/4 of the way through the book I might add). Once it's formed there is a very obvious conflict of the owner of the Austen home does not have a living male heir and so now they need to woo the next kin in line. The person that is the heir - so convenient to the society!

I read this for a book club that I'm in and I'm mad I finished it.

Chloe Davis was only twelve when her dad went to prison for the disappearance and murder of six girls in Louisiana. With the 20 year anniversary approaching, Chloe, and her brother Cooper, are still trying to figure out how to cope with what their father did.

In the previous 20 years, Chloe got engaged and became a psychologist, she finally thinks that she can move forward from her past, until 2 girls that she knew/saw as patients, went missing. Chloe can't cope with the similarities of the killings and starts to self-medicate with prescription pills and alcohol. Chloe needs to figure out who the killer is and why they are targeting girls that she knew.

I loved this book; I read it for a book club and it took me two days to read. I got suckered in. I do love an unreliable narrator story - always keeps you guessing! The twist was predictable but was done in an interesting way. 5 stars for a debut novel.

Title: The Fields

Author: Erin Young

Pages: 342

Rating: DNF

I couldn't get past how she wrote about Iowa. It was so obvious she did all of her research of the area online - as she is from ENGLAND. I have no problem with authors writing about an area they aren't from, it's just in this case it's so blatantly obvious. She kept location dropping every location in Iowa she knew and every famous person that was born or from Iowa. It got old by page 100.

This is the fourth book in the From Blood and Ash series and it was so good! A lot of people have been complaining about how certain events happened but I really enjoyed it!
