Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Trish Doller for giving me an eARC of Off the Map.
Carla Black is a woman who is only in one place to fund her adventures. For the last decade she has been traveling the world in her vintage Jeep Wrangler that her dad gave her. She doesn’t stay in one place for long, and she does not go home.
Her best friend is getting married in Ireland and her future brother-in-law, Eamon, is scheduled to pick up Carla at the airport. Eamon is a man who is a digital cartographer by day and traveling dreamer at night.
Carla and Eamon hit it off immediately and have mind blowing sex her first night in Ireland. Post-coital they talk about his dreams and she convinces him to travel Ireland with her before they have to be at the wedding.
During their travels through Ireland, they get closer and feelings start conflicting Carla’s idea of a traveling fling.
I really enjoyed this book! I didn’t realize it is the 3rd is the series, the Beck Sisters series, but it can be read as a standalone. Thank goodness, you didn’t feel like you were missing out on anything by not having read the first two.
Carla is a character everyone can relate to – she is terrified of going home due to a loved one being ill, and has severe wanderlust. She is living so many women’s dreams of traveling the world alone. And just being able to travel in general!
Eamon is also a super relatable character! He has a great paying job but just wants to quit and go travel the world. Eamon has the stability that Carla craves, and Carla has the freedom that Eamon craves. I just loved him so much! Thoughtful, ready to talk about his feelings, and apparently great in the sack.
