Thank you so much Meghan Quinn for the early copy of
They Way I Hate Him! I really enjoyed this story!
Hattie Rowley's life is falling apart: her favorite older sister passed away, and she failed her last semester of getting her masters in business. Her last resort is to move home to her small hometown of Almond Bay.
Her life spirals more when her boyfriend Matt, who was the assistant to the notoriously good-looking and mean rockstar Hayes Farrow, breaks up with her because she's too boring. She decides to ruin Matt's life by giving Hayes back the items that Matt stole. Her plan was to drop the items off at Hayes's door and leave, but to her surprise, he was home and ambushed her to work for him. The only problem is that Hayes and Hatt's brother are mortal enemies.
As Hattie starts to work for Hayes and learn more about him she learns that he is a loyal and misunderstood man. She wants to hate him, and he wants to hate her, but their attraction to each other is electric.
What I really enjoyed about this book, besides the delicious slow burn that was explosive when it caught fire, was how Hattie was dealing with her grief of losing her sister. She was struggling and Hayes was there for her 100% of the time - as a friend, employer, and eventual lover.
I can't wait to read the stories of Hattie's two siblings! Aubree, the hard-ass sister, will be a great read to see which guy, or girl, steals her icy heart!
PLEASE check the trigger warnings before you read this book. Here are some of the stronger triggers for some people: death of a sibling, cancer, parental abandonment, toxic family, and lots of childhood trauma.
